About YSR Connect
YSR Connect (Youth Social Responsibility) is a community initiative created to strengthen the military youth experience and build confident, community-minded leaders.
Every Action Matters
Welcome to YSR Connect- a new program designed specifically for military youth. YSR Connect (YSR: Youth Social Responsibility) is an innovative community program designed for students in grades 5 to 12, and their families, to volunteer together at nonprofit organizations around San Diego County. Volunteer opportunities involve active, hands-on service and reflect the many philanthropies serving greater San Diego County.
Working in partnership with the Armed Services YMCA San Diego, the program aims to;
- Strengthen the military youth experience through personal development and leadership
- Assist youth in contributing to society through community service
- Create lasting relationships between like-minded peers
- Yield meaningful involvement in the greater community
- Serve as a conduit for military families to connect with and add value to the civilian communities in which they reside, helping to bridge the military-civilian divide
